Additionally all persons of any gender and/or sexual orientation/identity may also adopt Independently and Internationally. Visit the LGBTQ section on families and parenting to see papers on adoption and family. to illustrate the current strengths and limitations of the adoption system in Ontario, Canada, and to offer recommendations for further improvements to facilitate access for LGBTQ2S+ people.

With many social media platforms available, almost any adoption has the potential for ongoing relationships, allowing direct communication between the adoptive family and the child with the birth family.
