Join us on May 9, 2026, at Rusty Macdonald Library in Saskatoon for Phase 2 of the program, offering a deeper dive into the complex realities of addiction and recovery while working to remove stigma and build understanding.
The day will include a presenter from Oaks Mental Health who will explore addiction through a compassionate, trauma-informed lens, alongside teachings from an Elder/Knowledge Keeper on how traditional values support healing for ourselves, our families, and our loved ones. Discussions focused on addiction—exploring its traits, how the brain functions in relation to addictive behaviors, and the importance of leading with compassion and understanding while also practicing self-care.
Presentation Topics Include: Understanding addiction, brain development, and self-care.
Knowledge Keeper support will be available throughout the day for individual support as needed. Childcare, tangible resources, and a soft lunch will be provided to support participation and connection.
